King of the Lesser Days

A Poem by J. Hampton

Warning
This story is rated Mature and may contain material unsuitable for readers under 18.

You …

are what  love smells like

On my pillow after you’ve gone

The tangle of arms and legs

That slide into warm embrace

As we …

Mingle….

Touch

And

Taste

The way

My lips

Tingle

As we

blend hips

As

One

S

   I

     N

        G

         L

            E

You….

are the sound of rain

That comforts me within an envelope of sleep

As we linger….

 into Saturday afternoons

You are the flow of words that cascade over my heart

Seducing my desire…

To hold us….

In that moment

Yet

the power of that

paralyzes me

O

    V

        E

             R

And

                        O

                   V

              E

          R

Again

 it gives me rest

To lay against

The comfort of

Your chest

Until ….

my breathing

 becomes

Your breathing

Becomes…

Something …

So interlocked

I

Don’t want it

To stop

E-v-e-r….….

The fullness

Of your spirit

Embraces me

A huge man

In so many

Small ways

My soldier

In  the

“for worse”

and

“for better” days

You …  cool my drink of life

Leaving my glass forever full

Through the years

And tears

I love you still

I want to be your strength

and yet  .....

your weakness

My Love...my King...

 my everything
"We" ...

are the endurance

of completeness

( For my King)

Sincere. And usually, with poems like this, I kinda roll my eyes, y'know? But this... was very real. Cool formatting of some of your words, especially the 'over and over' bit.

I want to say more but I'd rather leave with a hush...
