God's Promises (They Are Like Stars)

God's Promises (They Are Like Stars)

A Poem by

Perhaps they are like stars
(what you were before your birth)
When all the universe sang in joy
For the wonder of the brand new earth.

It is only through the void,
(the endless time of never coming back)
That the song is ever silent,
That we then feel joy's aching lack.

And they will bless you so
(with your heart so wild),
Tell you stories of the day
When the whole world smiled.

So never leave me here alone
(let me follow along with you)
We shall see it all, the whole world over,
And discover the song anew.

Perhaps they are like stars
(what you were before your birth)
When all the universe sang in joy
For the wonder of the brand new earth.
