TwisterA Poem by Caitlin LeaI am caught in the twister.A happy breeze Stirs Dust And leaves
In the heart Of me, Skittering Remnants
Of trees, Of grass Across My aching
Chest. Stronger It breathes Pulling
My belly Toward Something" Something
That needs To be there. A gust Bends me,
A young Tree, My branches Grasping,
Trying To hold This stimulating Force.
Now This is Too much For me
To fight. I am caught In the twister, Swirling
Endlessly, Beautifully, Frighteningly. I am lost
In the eye Of the windstorm That keeps me Safe, © 2012 Caitlin Lea |
