A thousand heartaches

A thousand heartaches

A Poem by Carissa Marie

She endured a thousand heartaches
A normal being could not bear
They crushed her heart
They killed her soul
Left her bleeding
Left her there.
She endured a thousand heartaches
Leaving her broken
Leaving her sore
She's not a fighter
She's just a girl
But never did they care.
She endured a thousand heartaches
Nothing was left
Nothing at all
They took her spirit
So she could fall
All she could do was cry and moan.
She endured a thousand heartaches
Now her heart is hard like stone
The sweet smile gone
The innocence gone
No trace of what was once
The girl who endured it all.
