Out of reach

Out of reach

A Poem by Carissa Marie

I'd love to lie down beneath the skies
So I could reach up high.
Pretend I could kiss the stars
And hold the moon with my tiny hands.
I'd close my eyes and dream away.
Dream as my soul is floating
Towards the endless void
Where I could escape from time.
Escape from this reality
And live for a moment
In my blissful fantasy.
I'd swim in this serenity
As it takes over my body.
If only for a fraction of a time,
I'd fill my spirit with peace.
When I open my eyes,
Then this dream would start to fade.
Time would then start ticking,
As reality soon kicks in.
And like the stars above me
So far away from my tiny hands
I know that far from reality,
My dreams are out reach.
