A thousand eyes

A thousand eyes

A Poem by Carissa Marie

A THOUSAND EYES

A thousand eyes, they stare at me.
With every move I make,
I'm all they see.
They see me laugh,
They watch me cry.
My every little action,
Judged by a thousand eyes.

Those thousand eyes, they pierced my soul.
Equipped with dagger looks,
They ripped me whole.
They stared and whispered,
They spread some lies.
My innocence tampered,
By a thousand eyes.

The thousand eyes, has engulfed me whole.
And with a swift cutting motion,
I reached my goal.
I moaned,
I whimpered,
As I ran out of breath.
But the cruel eyes couldn't see,
So I have nothing to fret.

Now the thousand eyes, they grieve for me.
The innocent monster now passed and gone,
For all to see.
They were too harsh,
No need to explain.
The guilt and repentance in their eyes,
 Unquestionably mixed with shame.
The love and acceptance, I wanted
Has come too late.
Now they have to live with the terrible truth,
That has been my fate.

a great example of a fruit that has many eyes is a pineapple :) ~ but in this poem... it takes me to my experience how people's weird stares makes me avoid them all to well... i find it hard, just at present the eyes of my neighbors are really peirce as if i think they are judging me everytime they see me... it's hard to brush off the negative thinking from the way they look... you can pretty tell when a stare is judging from the plain stares... everytime i get mixed emotions on it... i better ignore and do nothing if there is no proof of harsh judgement... if ever then that's the time you stand up and fight...

great piece kabayan... :)

People are sometimes too critical about others. They always look on other's faults. They pick holes in and murmur. They condemn. They always find the harsh words for those whom they think as sinners.

I also remember a video I have watched about bullying. Where the victim ended his life because he can't take anymore what others say about him, and do unto him.

Those thousand critical eyes...can put someone into misery, or into the grave.

Sad but true. Nicely penned truth.
