There lies a shredded demon

There lies a shredded demon

A Poem by Ama May Cooper
"

Just a little poem

"
Lace my mind with pretty lies
and feathered funny gentle things
paint the stormy darkness bright
and burn right though the void

Leave me smiling
Happy, carefree
Leave me left for dead
sitting on the remains of a long dead tree

Carve my insides till they shred red
and call my name out load
let the gods know that you have destroyed
there own devil cabana child

Let there cries be heard across the skies
let them douse the world in rain
there only spawn of evil blood
will walk the earth no more

watch as the wings protrude my shoulders
white but pointed , arched
Torn and battered , up in flames
A patriotic march

And from the ground a mighty roar
as the devil chooses pray
a tortured soul of good intent
twisted into maliciousness

His thorned hand grips my leg
and Jesus , god be saved
an almighty shriek shakes the earth
and everything gives way

The wings ablaze , they scoop me up
Majestic transparent breeze
a bird of power of innocence
The phoenix in all her glory

And suddenly as it all began
we burst
we crumble
as she to shattered into flames

And there you have it
nothing left
the gods will weep my name
the devils claws are etched in earth searching for my remains

Hear it called from heavens bridge
From the demons silent lair
Cappi you'll return to us
Cappi you are ours.
