What About This "Meaning Of Life"?

What About This "Meaning Of Life"?

A Poem by Broken Soul

What is the meaning of life? I first wondered this as a child.
Over the years, so many theories, most of which were wild.
I had never been so blind before, but at last I can finally see.
That the meaning of life simply is, whatever you want it to be.

Life can consist of peace and love, or we can have brutality and war
The choice that we need to make is ours, so then let us not ignore,
That every chance we take, each mistake we make, everything that each of us do,
In the end you're able to realize and understand that, the choices lie within you.

Live your life for the moment, live it the best that you possibly can,
Take the time to help others, don’t fret to ever lend a helping hand.
Get off your feet, go easy on the drugs, avoid the hypnotic trance.
Grasp at every opportunity in sight, never hesitate to take a chance.

The thoughts that you choose to perceive are the actions that you'll conceive.
I am hopeful that this poem will relieve you of any fears you may still believe.
By no means am I any savior, but just a poet inking another piece of writing.
So here I am sharing with you a little secret of life, only hoping to enlighten.

"whatever you want it to be"
I think that life has a lot of sub-meanings that are completely and totally personalized for every human and every other creature in the world. Religions I think are like fingerprints, unique to each person even when grouped together. The ultimate goal of each person's life is utterly dependant on what that person has deemed most important in regards to who they are and how they see the world. I love the concept of this poem, and once again, very strong ending lines, which makes for an overall wonderful poem. =)
