It rained today, while the sun shined.
The rainbow, the clouds, the wind.
Remember when we pulled the car over
Just to take pictures of the sky?
I miss everything, I miss you.
The french toast mornings
When we'd bail on work and school.
Hunting for the only open mcdonalds
At two in the morning
Just for a dollar menu hot fudge sundae.
I'd let you drive.
And the heater would always be up so high
That our eyes would water.
Late night drives up the mountain
With our favorite song on repeat
Just so we could see the city lights.
We'd kiss above this town.
Above the people that held us down.
Like angels we flew through the clouds,
You're eyes bright enough to guide us
Through the clear darkness of those summer nights.
Take me back to that paradise.
