Into the Waves

Into the Waves

A Poem by cassandra violet

I came to a shore

shivering as the sea poured over my feet

I felt the waves become me

yet as I glanced behind

back at the cracked pavement of the road

the scratched mountain cliffs

the falling petals

the browning leaves

my heart began to sink

drowning in the tide of the colored memories

but when I saw the sun set upon the bay

and brush the waves with the hues my heart held onto

I knew that it was time to plunge into the water

and so I jumped, never looking back

letting my heart tango with the end of the day

savoring the taste of the dance.

a real calm and peaceful serenity to this... sad possibly in its undertones but never the less, a real bestowing of truth and self.

mucho enjoyed.

Well written. You described the scene well.

As the ocean sings her siren song to us we are drawn, casting ourselves into her arms with mortal abandon. Though it's difficult letting go of our earthly footing, moving into a liquid plane breathes new life into our existence. Well done!

The mystery of the sea is grandeur than the memory of the soil. Dare to dance in the deep?

A interesting piece full of a lot of beautiful and observant imagery. I adore the thought of waves becoming you. Only not sure about the ending but other than its beautiful written. If you don't mind a suggestion. I would take out the last line or put it above the line above it.

the beauty in this.. is the pause in between the meaning that we dont read but we readily feel..

The is lovely, the imagery is good too. I recognize the feeling of elation you get when the sun appears to warm the cold and light up the dark and I felt it in this poem too, thank you for sharing.
