Don't ask

She can scratch with her long, boney fingers,

she can linger unwelcome outside.

She can freeze in the frost of harsh winter,

not a tear will I shed from my eyes.

While I sit by the logs of my fire

with a glass of the finest red wine,

I will scoff at the threats that she proffers

and consign her to hell with all swine.

The opening lines lead me to the harshness of winter, but with the title, I am going for either a frienf who really wasn't, or a T word. (shh! Take those heels off when crossing bridges, for fear of them waling) :)
I remember a much simpler time, when trolls were nothing more than grinning, fuzzy-headed pencil jewellery. Who knew those little tykes would grow up into complete arseholes? :)
Just you enjoy that wine and know that hers will taste of tears and bitter regret.

Ah Lorry, can you remember three billy goats gruff too, trying to cross the bridge and that troll de ol, hiding underneath it. Well they still exist, but fortunately this little story is an old one. I found this little bit of revenge in the archives and thought, did you really write that? I sort of liked it's kick in the teeth, so thought I might give it an airing.

Remember it? My house was at the other side of s bridge from school. And I went home for lunch, so four times a day I held my breath and ran like the bionic man across it. I swear we must have been read it once a week...probably becaise it was the one thing that shut us up :)

I still think of the troll when I cross bridges sometimes. You know some of those stories, especially Grimms fairy tales should have been x rated. The Red Shoes gave me nightmares. If I stopped dancing while wearing them, the axe man would cut my feet off (lol) It'a a wonder any of us grew up normal :) .

My instant reaction after reading it was- cool man😀. But it's really good and besides being a correct payback for a cheat it also taught me that we should not care much and waste our time and emotions on people who don't care for us, as life is beautiful and is meant to be enjoyed with our loved ones and friends. just a very light dusting that lasted for about half an hour,; how about you?

About four inches, most of it still with us. A very cold day today.

when i was young we used to get lots of very deep snow and the south hardly got any, now it seems the other way round and we never get much. When my first baby was born the neighbours had a dig a path out for the midwife to get through but now we never get much snow at all.

I can still remember the winter of 1963 when the snow came in December and lasted till March. The river froze and we all went skating on it. Now that was a harsh winter.

We had those such a lot, it was normal then in my part of the world , large icicles and frozen lakes ... but now ... nothing of the sort lol.
