Dependence on Discomfort

Dependence on Discomfort

A Poem by Cat
"

This is important to me.

"
Water drips from your mouth
As I thirst for euphoria.
The night falls darker
Under ecstasy and perfume.
Dusk carries away the high
into dusty gloom.
Rivers run wider and
lovers grow farther.
And the deliverance through
the Nile was a trivial departure.

But Darling, you weep so lovely
I get fits of gratification.
Until withdrawal hits and
brings life to your abstraction.
I'm left addicted to the stream
of your abundance.
Wilted from the ultimate overdose
of vengeance.

Amazing poem Cat. Very full of meaning. My favorite line was "Rivers run wider and lovers grow father." Painful truths. Thanks for sharing.

Addiction and vengeance. Last grasp for hope when we are empty. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
