What I feel!

This a poem I wrote for my counselor Jolene. It is about the emotions I feel and why I feel them.

Many people say they feel happy most of the time and rarely sad,

I feel sad and depressed,

From all the terrible things said about me,

From being treated like nothing,

I feel angry when people walk all over me,

Thinking they are better than me,

Never invite me to do anything,

I tried one to get invited to do something,

I was ignored and looked at like I was nothing,

I feel happy when I am at home,

With my cats,

Alone in my own thoughts and room,

Where I can be myself and express who I am,

And spending time with my cousin Madison,

So in the end,

These are the feelings I feel,

That express what my life is like,

And why I feel them.

This is purely expressing how I feel; this has no rhyme so do not worry about it. And please tell me what you think of it.

The flow of words could be a bit more graceful with some careful editing, but this is raw poetry with little or so I hope, thought and effort put into it. That is what makes this poem so great, with or without the flow. Love the raw expressions of emotions, great write. Glad you find your happiness somewhere, wherever it may be (with your cats!) btw, cats are cute xx (aha just had to add that!)

Thank you for the review. Whenever I write poetry I for the most part use my emotions in each of my poems. And since I love cats so much I had to add that they make me happy; but I also get sad when they die.

that's great, that is what most poets do. And it helps, doesn't it? It helps get the message through to the reader, whatever the message may be. That's great! Yes, we all get upset when our favourite animal, especially a pet, dies.

This poem makes you connect with it on a somewhat deeper level. I found myself feeling what you described throughout in a compassionate, intimate manner that really provoked my thoughts into a pattern of 'how many people feel like this'. I, personally, thought it was beautiful and dark.

From a poetic nature, this poem is very deep but its also very disturbing as it relates to one who is and feels cut off from society. Not too much though. But disturbing :)
