Dare to Believe

I wrote this for a friend of mine on the Cafe that is going through a difficult time. To you, my friend.

Dare to believe there is a God in heaven above

A God waiting to fill you with His strength and His love

 

Dare to believe that He's only a prayer away

That He cares about you deeply and yearns to fill you with hope abundant each day

 

That He's not a million light years and miles away

That He'll answer your beckoned call and not hold you at bay

 

Dare to believe that He sent His only son to die for you and for me

That His love is more limitless than the sand on the shore & more expansive than the sea

 

If you were but a single soul on this unfurling earth

He would have died for only you because of your incredible worth

 

You are a rare and precious pearl worth your weight in pure gold

The sheep herder is bidding you come, calling you into the fold

 

Can you hear the gentle call and feel the knock upon your heart?

Will you dare to believe, dare to do your part?

 

He's looking for an open heart that will dare to believe

A heart that will take a chance and dare to receive

After reading this, your friend must've felt so good, just like I'm feeling right now. I never read a poem so inspirational, so encouraging, so true in its structure and form. It leaves a mark upon the reader's heart and she/he can't help but read it again and again and later save it as a 'favourite'....^_^
It's always good to know that God stull cares about us and no matter what we do, if we truly pray, he'd surely forgive us. This piece took me on a spiritual journey which I really needed at the moment...
I loved this piece!! Reading this made me feel more enthusiastic and hopeful that things are going to change...someday..for good...
