Changing the World One Person at a Time

Changing the World One Person at a Time

A Poem by Carole

What will I do with the gifts I've been given?

Will I use them for good

To touch the life of another?

      Perhaps a mother

                     a father

                     a son

                     or a daughter

Will I speak a word that will lighten a load?

Will I, by my listening, help to ease life's bitter woes?

Could I encourage even just one human life

And lift them from a place of preponderous strife?

Could I be the person that lends a hand

To a precious woman or a precious man

That have spent their life time in a dark miry pit

Questioning life and ready to quit?

All of life's experiences can become costly and invaluable jewels

Each one can become a wonderous tool

One of our trials may be the one that brings life

To a man or a woman, a husband or wife

Though each of us are only one solitary person on this earth

We must never forget our incredible worth

Using our gifts with others in mind

We can change this world one person at a time

"Changing the world one person at a time" carol, the title alone really speaks to the heart,
and promotes a messege of goodness, what i loved about this enlightening poem is the
the reflection of positivity, and the idea of change, and optimism, its a breath of fresh air
and has true concept, if people wopuld listen to the messge your outlook so gracefully
implies, the world would be a much better place, light shines through your words, mike

this is a very important piece of work for EVERYONE to read, we need to know that we all have special gifts that differ from anothers but we need to use them for good to help people that don't have everything that we have in america. Like some people are good at building stuff so maybe they could help with habitat for humanity and others might be good at helping children so maybe they could spend time in a 3rd world country helping with certain families. And of course our soilders are helping us in Iraq.
This is a very special and important poem, you are very good at explaining things, keep it up.

I loved this writing. I totally agree. Sometimes I think that we put the whole world on our shoulders and expect it to all change at once. That is a recipe certain for failure. We must do what you wrote. Changing one person at a time. Starting with ourselves.
Thank you for sharing.
Love All, Mejasha

What an extremely wonderful thought! Changing the world one person at a time. I, myself, have been blessed with many in my life who have taught me and changed me ... more than one who saved me. I'm glad that you wrote this and shared it. I think that this is something everyone should read.

Just so you know, you have made a difference in my life. You've touched my life and lightened my load and for that, I thank you very much! :) You are an angel.
