Hero/City Streets

Hero/City Streets

A Poem by Eric Weick

Whose heart was strong enough,

to carry the world and every sin?

Whose hands were warm enough,

to heal bruised and beaten skin?

Whose feet walked far enough,

passed all land and ocean?

Whose mind was vast enough,

to quiet any and all men?

Whose eyes had love enough,

in them to say “You may call me a friend” ?

Whose words were sharp enough,

to pierce the heart, even after the end?

Whose grace was great enough,

that with it, any heart he could mend?

Whose life was mighty enough,

that even the knees of death would bend?

And I know a hero,

who once walked through city streets.

Whose words give birth to life,

as in our hearts they still repeat.

A very modern perspective on the story of religion. At least I hope that I've understood this piece correctly. Some excellent lines.
Very good work.

Thank you Mad Englishman.
:Whose life was mighty enough,
that even the knees of death would bend?"- nice line
I also like how the hero is someone who uses words to give hope.
