Let go

Let go

A Poem by Eric Weick

Oh LORD, I can’t feel any more afraid,

because I’ve already fallen off the tracks.

and the world whispers winds and voices in my ears,

that when I walk outside,

…I won’t be coming back.

No I can’t, no I can’t, no I can’t,

…come back.

Oh how I have loved these lovers, all the wrong way.

From grace and embracing arms, to fangs, I sway.

…Oh LORD

…bring me to tears.

Because it’s hard enough to look the way I do,

and have no remorse, for all of these years.

… all of these years.

That I have caused hurt,

and so solemnly, have hurt.

These vipers have my ankles,

these scorpions pierce my toes.

But the worst is that, the someone that I am,

is someone that I have never known.

It’s because I’ve not known you.

…Oh you.

Make these waters rise over.

May the sword run through.

Because I am lost by all the evil that I do.

But may these words,

ever rest so true

…on this heart and on this soul,

that you do not let go.

No ! You do not, let go.

The plea of mercy in the lines...as you go about the lines of this write...its evident the person has faltered and willing to purge...as the lines convey much of that in the piece...the add effects you put in there...does get your attention:

That I have caused hurt,
and so solemnly, have hurt.
These vipers have my ankles,
these scorpions pierce my toes.
But the worst is that, the someone that I am,
is someone that I have never known.
It’s because I’ve not known you.
…Oh you.

its the mustard on the sandwich of this narrative...gives -- yet takes everything into account...that he does forgive...
