Cast A Shade

Cast A Shade

A Poem by Eric Weick

Cast a shade

upon this thought:

that you are ill

and shall be forgot.

For upon this night, and -marrow,

they too shall barrow, this-

that it may shed

terrible light,

on this horrid land

of sad and sorrow.

Written on this wall are words

of a riddle

“You are dreaming.”

That this be some cruel attempt

at a nightmare,

awakening only to some red devils scheming.

For in this, we be minded,

of test after test,

Job and his land and his plot,

that nothing was

before & after,

between life & death,

except God and not.

That nothing mattered except

God or not.

Lifes' path is never smooth. We all have our crosses to bear. A little disturbing but well written.

Thank you Frontier.
THIS HAS CONVICTION IN EVERY MATTER OF THE WORDS...
THE START GETS THE READER RIGHT INTO THE THICK OF IT...
AND WHAT FOLLOWS JUST KEEPS ETCHING ---
INTO THE GRIPS OF THE MEANING AND INTENDED PURPOSE...
