Love Is Something

Love Is Something

A Poem by Eric Weick

Love is something, you can’t learn.

Love is something, you can’t earn.

Love is something, you can’t get got.

And I guess if you don’t have it,

then you are not..

just only,

a real low down gun man,

a circus act without a showman.

A girl who don’t act like a woman,

or a real rich rich lone man.

Love is something, you can’t buy.

Love is something, the world -otta try.

Love is something, makes flames oh so cool.

Love is something, understood even by a fool.

And I guess if you won’t,

then you should just leave.

And I guess if they won’t

then there just as mean.

Hate is something, easy to lock up.

Hate is something, known well enough.

Hate is something, makes burns revive.

Hate is something, leads love, on a lie.

Down the road, hearts alone,

no God at home, bruises to be shown.

In the mirror, these wounds do burn,

I know of only true love,

to which such pain can turn,

and fan to flame,

Oh, and fan to flame.

As you might know this style of poetry is one that I use too. I think this is a great write. Very well done. Loved it.

Amazing poem Eric!

"just only,
a real low down gun man,
a circus act without a showman.
A girl who don’t act like a woman,
or a real rich rich lone man." this part is so true.

I like how you used the casual language, for some reason it makes the message come out more, seem more real.

"I know of only true love,
to which such pain can turn," - love this line, its amazing
