In my House

In my House

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

I was sitting in the back yard of my old house watching my daughters play.... brought back a lot of memories and feelings of how life was before my divorce. I sat there and cried as I typed this poem

"

In this house are many memories
Good and bad but they are mine
Memories of love, family and pain
Memories of a once gratifying time

Home is where the heart is

I guess my heart is still here
Even though I don't call it home
My kids and my heart rest here

You could say I'm missing out
On a life that once made me proud
Tears fall from my depressed eyes
My world covered by a dark cloud

Someday I will find that happiness
That once filled my heart with delight
I cry as I watch my daughter's play
And realize the happiness in my sight

This is very special.
It takes alot of ones self to look at whats in your life and appreciate the good thats going on, especially when the good is always there! Its so important to re-value and reiterate how meaningful what we already have is.
Thanks for such an encouraging Poem!

Rough times, but all the pain and past grief is gone in an instant when you are with your Daughter's.

Thank you irenic :) I appreciate you digging this one up I almost forgot about it :)
Aaron, the fact that you realize how precious that time really is with your daughters will lead you toward happiness. We have to grieve for what was to be able to put it fully behind us. You are still in that spiralling cycle of grief. That is okay my friend. One day you will open your eyes and it will all look different--new somehow, and you'll be ready. I've always thought that all the heartache and heartbreak is God preparing us for his right one, and along the way he gives us little blessings like your daughters. I keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Aaron.

We all find happiness when we least expect it. Just hang in there and embrace the joy that comes your way now. Thoughtful, impacting, and very touching. A very good job.

Balanced on the blade of ages, contemplating where ones life has gone and how it should go on. Philosophically moving and frighting because it is so relate able, Standing Ovation! It was a pleasure to read.

This is good insight Dad. It's a good feeling for you! Keeps you close to where you need to be as their Dad. Stay close as long as you can! It's important for them and for you!
