Saturday Night

This is my lonely Saturday night... choosing no fun.

It’s Saturday night 7:26 pm…

I am sitting on my couch all alone.

I’m thinking, deciding on the night.

Do I go out, have fun and live it up?

Or should I sit here and watch Netflix?

Watch, all alone with nothing but a beer….

It sounds depressing but I have no one to share with.

I want to cuddle but I have no partner.

I want to kiss but there’s no woman with me.

I want to feel alive but life is stuck on pause.

What to do, should I sit and wait?

It’s Saturday night, and I am telling a story….

A story of how each night goes, the story of my life.

I guess I’ll choose self-destruction tonight.

Pop open this beer, wrap up this blunt….

Medicate all pains away, clear my mind,

Stare at the t.v. with only a beautiful woman in mind.

I’ll share this moment with no one but myself…

The Netflix, the couch, the blunt--the revolving safety blanket prison for the anxious. Wonderful perspective. Fresh in the form, yet so, so familiar. Great write, man, I particularly like the line which includes 'life is stuck on pause', it compliments the scene perfectly.

I am sorry you feel that way. I totally understand, you wishing to spend quality time with a woman who you would love, but you don't have her yet in your life. But yes, sitting at home and not really making it happen for yourself won't lead you to your jackpot. Call up some friends, go out somewhere fun! Or join a club of a specific interest and you'll meet lots of interesting people and who knows maybe your love is there or you will meet her through the people. I have tried the internet before as well to find dates. Not for everyone of course.

Haha, but honestly I don't mind staying at home watching tv or playing games or reading! I am such an anti-social house cat.

You lost me at test haha.... even all the way through college I wouldn't study for tests. I hated school... did really well but it got boring. I am half way done with my masters but just got imagine being that bored again.

Aaron, this is a good write, but James is right... we have to get off our rumps and get out there if we want something to happen. Last time I checked the girls don't make house-calls in search of a partner, and it's getting tougher. If I were you I would drop the beer and blunt, wash up, change, and head out to see what life is happening beyond the couch. You can do it, my friend... you just have to go!
