I am so sorry I missed this, this year. I thought there was still time to enter. I'd like to add a verse here, in the reviews, and dedicate it to the friend we lost a few short days go. You see, he reached out to some of us earlier this year, and was one of the voices who encouraged me to keep going when I wanted to quit writing. We had no idea he was in crisis again, because he did not tell us. He quietly withdrew, leaving so many unanswered questions. These lines are for you, "Shmoke":

"And for you, far from home, knowing not if there ever even was a "home,"
one of the insatiably lonely, unquiet, the breaking-inside ones. That taste:
Christmas despair. I would say, "The season's starlight illumines us all the same.
and we can set our solitude in your hands- because, my friend, you were never alone."

-2013 Guatemala, also searching for my home
