Words of restless hope... of Resurrection

Words of restless hope... of Resurrection

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

O wretched death and mortality!

"

Mortality; O wretched death and mortality!

Decay is a demon dream, schemed in symmetry.

O, that death crucified might halt its talons,

Will we not all ascend from the grave?

Remember the fallen, the slain;

Their dust is our foundation.

Consider their suffering and pain;

For therein lies a new creation.

Silent stones of granite hue;

Enveloped now in sacred dew.

Speak somber words of restless hope

Of Resurrection...

I appreciate your comments and your time, my friend.
Very powerful and spiritual message concerning that dreadful day when we all are standing before that ultimate seat of judgment, yet as we live our hope get restless from time to time wondering is there such a reason to hope. Profound writing.

What a beautiful write! And it's true, with death comes new life. When things die, they become a part of the earth which we continue to walk upon, this they are always with us. Bodies apart of the ground, while their spirits are resting peacefully in the sky. The circle of life...the spirits of the dead are always with us. The picture makes this poem seem very eerie, dark, but I'm thrilled by your positive message you conveyed.

I'm really digging the way you convey a topic as morbid as death with a sense of hope. I also like the fact that I had to read your poem three times to really get a solid gist of it. Good job.

Kinda very deep. Industrious. And eye catching poetry, as always, as usual. Liked the line: "Decay is demon dream, scheduled in symmetry."So true... & your fantasy philosophy seems almost quite true as real, as realistic. Wonderful work!

The addition of the artwork worked well here. Gave the viewer something extra to consume.
You create a lot of strong images and still invoke powerful emotions. It reads an old classic.

"Remember the fallen, the slain;

Love the imagery, use of wording and the dark foreboding feeling you leave the viewer with.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing.

I have missed the way you effortlessly whisk me away with your words. The masterful flow that allows the reader to become lost in the imagery and emotion that you skillfully color the page with. This has an old world feel and voice to it (in my head) that beckons the reader to listen to the tales of days past and heed the lessons provided. It offers salvation and hope to those lost and suffering. The spiritual tones subtle yet profound touch the reader in a way that is both affecting and pleasant. beautifully done my friend.

With you it is an honor and a pleasure :) thank you.
Excellent writing. I felt like I was reading something written by Edgar Allan Poe... It certainly shares a kinship with Poe's work. And the grim picture associated with the piece adds to that haunting flavor. Great work!
