Meadows with no clocks

Meadows with no clocks

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

There are journeys that leave no footprints…

"

A heron hovering

flighting in sunlit skies

winged breath in angel visions

there are journeys with no footprints

feathered wings in life’s flight over meadows with no clocks

only the trafficked flitter of butterflies

only the roaring call of songbirds

how the soul seeks rest

songs of the Sabbath

no warring factions

feathering fractions

Sing me songs of the meadowed millpond mirrors

of melted anxieties drip dripping down

tell me what life should feel like

surely not this over-burdened fight

not this darkened screeching night

I want the feeling of lifting flight

soaring over worlded wonders

breathing cloud crystals

fly me over meadows with no clocks

time there rides on a heron’s wings…

Outstanding and beautiful write.
It took me on an odyssey. What a soothing piece to read. I loved these lines:
there are journeys with no footprints
feathered wings in life’s flight over meadows with no clocks
only the trafficked flitter of butterflies
only the roaring call of songbirds
The imagination of this journey is truly wonderful.

I adore the surrealism in your poetry, and how you know how to never overuse it.
The phrase "meadowed millpond mirrors" sounds excellent...definitely my favourite from this poem..

I love this idea about a land where people are not governed by time. The great poet Rumi talks of one in one of his famous poems
It even reminds me of the Elysian fields in heaven.

Thank you so much for your kindness. :)
A soul longing for a world where there's peace and the clock stops ticking. No burdens no anxieties just beauty and joy and light. There comes a time when we grow weary and need eternal solace. This poem is so beautiful Craig! ❤

Now, that is something to look forward to. :)
I love this message & all the word play that went into expressing it. Good alliteration & other sound groupings of interesting words (factions/fractions). Excellent examples of various journeys that can be taken without leaving any footprints. You're describing my life, living here in the wilderness where clocks are obsolete & there's no such thing as cell reception. Very gracefully worded.
