FALLING, I AM...

FALLING, I AM...

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Sometimes in dreams we realize we're meant for another place...

"

Falling, I am…

why do I feel so far from myself

woven  in bands of memory

thoughts soaring by

floating wingless

traipsing, trudging tramping

past countless things

of cabbages and kings

and breathless recollections

near perfect reflections

in mirrors with no faces

how I see such days

in shadows they call to me

from lullabies to lull me

into dreamish Neverlands

just out of reach from golden hands

why  do I feel so far from myself

falling, I am…

my pleasure
The poem speaks to me of loss, of shadowy dreams, of falling as a feather through time...It speaks to me of the uselessness of sand sifting through a fist...we can't hold on however hard we try...Your beautiful words touch my soul.

Thank you for coming and sharing of you. I so hope that in your falling you will find your wings.
In mirrors with no faces.. beautfully sad this and this piece has a desparate feeling of loneliness and loss to it .. i can relate to some of these mundane emotions.. nice work

I am so thankful for your comments and your encouragement, Mr.e.
I've never felt like I fit in anywhere, so as child I would escape in fairy tales and adventures from reading.. As I got older it was daydreams and meditations searching my soul for purpose and meaning.. This reminds me of that. Of looking deeper, reflecting, throwing all those little quirks we have gained and dreamed about along the way and finding yourself by getting lost.. Not sure if that made any sense, but it did in my head.. lol
This one felt less whimsical with more of a deep, puzzled magic. lovely as always :)

Sometimes we don't feel like ourselves. It's as if we are spiraling down a drain; lost and confused.

Oh I love this. I'm a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. I can see the inspiration here. Love, love, love. :)

"Cabbages and kings" happens to be my favourite phrase here..it stands out for its quirky wording which suits the mood that you are trying to create. :)
