Of owls and angels

May your heart be filled with bliss

 Even in the ordinary

And with the fire

Nothing can be ordinary again

Smiling at your words

A smile that ripples like waves of magic through me

A connection so strong and alive

Even over these miles

I feel you closer than any around me here

Yes, words of owls and angels

Of God and higher things

Deeper things

More beautiful than a mind can imagine

Just moments ago I opened a book

Filled with ancient poetry and literature

And here is what I read:

“O most noble greenness

You who take root in the sun

And who shine in radiant tranquility on the wheel

Whom no earthly excellence surpasses

You are enfolded in the embraces of divine mysteries

You glow like the dawn and burn like the flame of the sun”

How you come alive so deeply in the everything now

And I love to see you shine...

Though the quote from the mystic at the end might give the impression that the entire work is a praise of God, I believe the one to whom the words are addressed is another person. While I cannot say whether the love professed is entirely of the spiritual, platonic sort, I believe there is a highly spiritual quality to it. The imagery is beautiful. Would that all of us could have such words spoken to us. Well done.
