ARKANSAS WHISPERS

ARKANSAS WHISPERS

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

My state of Arkansas personified…

"

In soft curves

draped in jade-colored silks

water glides down her soft skin

in crystal droplets

ribbon rivers…

Her voice is wind whispers

lush emerald tones

and her words

deep sapphire lakes

full and running free…

She is

fearless

naked

powerful...

dear Owl... your words of beauty ... the sound of a waterfall... “deep sapphire lakes free and running free”... “her voice is wind whispers... lush emerald tones”... these words are as lovely as a bird singing a lullaby of romantic overtures in a symphony of beauty. truly, Pat

dear Owl... your poem is as serene as romance can be. You paint a picture that has feelings of pleasure unfolding against Nature's background of silver blue heavenly hues... a masterpiece to be framed in gold. truly, Pat

Thank you so much, my friend!
Madly wild, lush and lovely my friend. The imagery and evocative words mesh in a beautiful collaboration, celebration, of your amazing home. Arkansas rises as a goddess of nature primeval. Magnificent!

Thank you, Paul! Lots of beautiful wildness around here. :)
Beautiful tribute to your own personal homeland. I love the descriptions, the alliteration, the word play with vivid observations well-stated. I love that you chose quite unusual words in the last 3 lines, personifying your homeland spot almost as a lover.

There is nothing so perfect as a good river, a waterfall and clear skies. Unless of course there is a canoe involved. Good write, C.

Very beautiful personification. After experiencing the beauty of Arkansas for the first time more recently I cannot argue with any of this! It's the Natural State for a reason!
