IN THE GARDENS OF SIMPLICITY

IN THE GARDENS OF SIMPLICITY

A Poem by Craig Froman
"

Sometimes I long for simple things...

"

Comfort is your softing smile

A book that lets you stay awhile

Antique doors with ancient face

Painted in wisterian grace…

Hearing your laughter’s happy flight

Chocolate truffled candlelight

Picnics in the quiet rain

Wild ponies near the lane…

Tempting glances from your eyes

A field of golden butterflies

Moonlight shadows serenade

In an emerald forest glade…

Summer solstice in your hair

Painting hung of St. Mark’s Square

Canaletto colors fall

Upon a flowered terrace wall…

Holding you on autumn nights

Poppies and slender paperwhites

These are visions I long to see

In the gardens of simplicity…

I loved the last stanza so much. Such a lovely description of a blossoming ethereal garden, you've expressed with such delicacy the beauty and fragrance of this lofty dream. "Tempting gladness from your eyes... a field of golden butterflies" such a precious visionary you are. The aroma of floral affection is richly woven in the enchanting scene of your creation. This is alluring and tenderly sweet. I adore the ethereal grace you've captured here. Such a lush and vivid read. Love it.

You always have the most beautiful words "wisterian" "truffled" ...

So simple and so elegant :)

I will always be a fan :)

This is very cool, sorry I could not find a better word to describe this, I'm tired and it was the first thing that came to mind.

Again your words make me feel like I'm in a dream, or a really pretty dictionary. Simplicity is always a great relief! This was my absolute favorite part of the poem:
"Summer solstice in your hair
Painting hung of St. Mark’s Square
Canaletto colors fall
Upon a flowered terrace wall… "
Beautiful!

To have the insight necessary to pluck apart a beauteous interlude into its contituent parts, and worship each individually in order to heighten your rapture at the whole--What woman could fail to be entranced at such a soul? "your softing smile...", "your laughter's happy flight..."--Masterful! You are among a most select minority, my friend!
