I remember blue

electric wilds of flight

before the colors of the world were tainted

breathing shades of blush

painting virulent days

days drifting

merging as raindrops into rivers

drops of simplicity

became oceans of complexity

complexity now

now in this moment

as you peer into my mind

sense in my soul who I am

make some sense of who I was

feel my heartbeat

as you rhythm read these letters

landscapes form

mindscapes of freshly fallen show

show a voice

a voice painted in recollections

mirrored reflections

and I still remember blue

somehow…

I do not think of the color of blue as sad, either, I think of it as the sky, a joyful color the color of air and freedom space to breath, sing and release a beautiful song...like you have here, well done. :)

this reminds me of the song dark blue by jack's mannequin- i kinda had the same imagery in my head going on as i did while listening to that song- brings back a lot of memories since at one time that was my favorite song back in the day..love how you worked off just "blue" and came up with such complexity- i think my favorite lines were the very first three, it really set the stage and were quite powerful lines :)

Blue was what the world used to be - clean and fresh. Until "complexities" and "virulent days" tainted it into shades of grey, bleak and ravaged "mindscapes". The poem paints colors in words and the last lines take us back to the "recollections" of former days and the color blue.

Bittersweet. Wonder if it was mean't to be. Great descriptive language throughout and I found no fault in the stanzas. Way to go, once again.
