Failure

Failure

A Poem by charleybear

In all the years of all my life

ive followed my dreams, ive taken advice

ive made mistakes, ive fallen down

upon my knees i sank to the ground

it didnt really matter in the years gone by

it was myself i sat and watched cry

but now you are here

and its different i fear

its not just me

ill have your tears to race

and in your eyes i would see

so much disappointment surrounding me

im scared ill admit

a failure id be

if i never made it

to the end of my dreams

the world you hold yet its the moon i see

its true you know what ive said to you

you are my world

you are the stars i see

I loved this poem. This piece can reflect on so many lives and still be the cold, hard truth. It is beautiful.

I really loved reading this poem. I see poems as mini stories sometimes, like I'm reading to the author's/speaker's mind and that is what I get from this. Well written.

This is beautiful. I love it. It makes me rather sad in a strange way. Perhaps because it's so strikingly true for many and yet so easily lost?

there is a powerful underlying message here, the transition of seeing simply from one's eyes to another's and how important that shift can be. Good process.
