Lost at sea.

Lost at sea.

A Poem by Charlotte Haran

Doubts are creeping in.
Like souls of the undead unleashing their once crimson rays.
The sea evokes you.
It mutters your name, repeatedly.
In such destruction, she shines bright.
Her beam identifying your attempts.
Mere silhouettes of what once was
Of what will never be again.
Drifting.
His strides become a struggle.
Droning cries muffled by the depth.
The chill of her touch overwhelms.
Swallowed by the truth, he no longer fights.
Drowning in the emotions.
Out of sight.
Out of mind.
Lies.

Author's Note

Charlotte Haran
I tried to be more descriptive with this piece. I love the contrast in ideas, in the sense that the sea can be so still and beautiful, but used to describe a fierce event. Let me know whether you think it works or not.

I loved reading this. The ocean is one of vast deadly-beauty. I love whenever it is used in poetry. The cunning way the discripions draw you in then take you down.

really good. you really did capture the emotion of the subject. love the personification of the sea itself, it almost sounds like a predator. as imagery goes its pretty much bang on. good read.
