Thoughts

Thoughts

A Poem by C. Lee Battaglia
"

...

"
Hide the pain,
bury them down,
But it's too much.
Close your eyes,
as you bite your lip
And the marks become
A bright shade of red
These are my thoughts
That eventually escalate
Into more pain
and wanting to end it all
Because of you,
These are my thoughts
Because of you,
There are scars
Because of you,
I cry every night,
Because of you,
I might just end it all

Your poem reflects, rather lyrically a great deal of pain. Yet when I read your bio, I see a great deal of courage and resolve. You are young, and I am old, so I can only tell you there is no escape from oneself, that is, from your timeless consciousness, your soul. I know this because as a young man I sought to end the pain of a profound depression and my soul went to a place more terrible than can be imagined. God gave me another chance--why I don't know, perhaps in part to write this a 1/2 century later. If you think on it Lee, you may have a sense that you are a transcendent being, existing forever.

You're welcome! And yeah of course!
Sometimes pain leads us to better places- the journey isn’t always nice but the ending a wonderful place where much strength and knowledge has been acquired through each painful experience- straight from the heart🌹

Hard, direct and scary poetry. When we fall so deep. Death is the end. You made the reader believe the words and the thoughts. Thank you my friend for sharing the powerful poetry.
