Chain-link fences, surrounding houses

I wonder as my feet slap against the pavement, why so?

An invitation to robberies; come try me!

Or maybe a built up chain of their past, pushing away all visitors.

A crafty contraption, to catch the ankles of climbing curious children.

To look through the world within the confines of a distorted view? Hidden away from reality.

I wonder?
