war zone

war zone

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about life in a war zone area. Influenced by a film I recently saw depicting war.

"
war zone

car bombs blasting
arm rockets flare
bullets scatter all about
blood splatters everywhere

this war zone is your home
no matter where you try to roam

but don't worry
you aren't alone
many more bruised and worn feet
have trampled down the dusty
streets of this brutal cold zone

they moan and drone with
constant fear that they
might see you too

Nice job Marie, you bring the war to life with your descriptive words.

There i truth in your words. War upon more war leave many ghost and witnesses to the terror of war. I was in Africa on food and water missions. The eyes of children were of old people. Babies have seen nightmares and death. Made me thankful to be raised in the USA. I hope we change the USA purpose from war to saving the life of many. Can break down walls of hate with kindness and food/medical help. Your poem is outstanding. You made me think.
