She Dazzles Us All, Our Africa

A poem about Africa's beautiful natural habitat.

She Dazzle’s Us All, Our Africa!

 

Stepping into the lush and leafy African jungle

With my crisp khaki’s on, I’ve got a Zulu attitude.

I refuse to let it go, even if I risk being rude!

 

With monkey’s to my left and to my right,

Prowls a majestic lion with a fluffy mane

And a mighty roar!

Can’t you tell I’m ready to explore?

 

It’s easy to conclude that Africa is our

Prettiest trip to the zoo.

No worries about being nude,

In parts of Africa it’s not considered lewd.

 

People learn to chill and seek nature’s thrills

In the mighty jungles of Africa.

She’s our beautiful Queen, that we should learn

 To protect against every intrusion and crude act

 That tries to harm her natural gifts that dazzle us all.

 

 

Author's Note

I've never been there, but I would love to go. I hope there's something left to see when I do go, like wild beautiful animals.

My daughter has been to South Africa three separate occasions. Most of the safari animals or big game are in Kenya and protected by law. But Africa is a beautiful and vast continent; from the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the vinyards of Cape Town. Who would think, for example, that South Africa would have penguins?! But they do. I always thought penguins only lived where it was cold! My daughter loves Africa with a passion.
