Summer Fun

A poem about hanging out at the pool.

 

(Summer Fun)

Summer fun is wrapping up.
So are my last days for being a beach bum,
by hanging out in my flip-flops and string bikini.

Now that the nights are growing longer
and the days are growing shorter.
Time to get serious and
put my life back in order.

But, I'll always remember fondly,
my days this summer of hanging
by the pool and studying for school
while sipping on a gin and tonic.

I'll also miss the lovely summer tunes
that played over the pool's loud speaker
and the smile of our well-toned lifeguard
who always proudly wears
his high-top sneakers.

Summer in beaches with the flip flops and fav clothes are common scenes seen in summer, its always fun to play in hot sun.... Nice poem, thanks for entering the contest....

I like this a lot ..there's a happy smiling ring to it and those three last lines cap the poem with a touch of snappiness - maybe a little summertime nostalgia!

(I can just about remember days like that .. oh so wonderful!)
