To Die By A Sword

To Die By A Sword

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A poem about dying.

"

To Die By A Sword

Shards of glass rip open my flesh

An ocean of red disappears.

Turmeric memories

Flood through my mind.

Shock has nestled in

And made a home in me.

Soon all my blood will

Leave me as well as my soul.

To die crushed in your car

Is so humbling.

To die by a sword

Or a bomb would be noble.

But to die because

Someone had to talk on the phone,

What a horrible way to go.

I've had 3 car wrecks in 2 years. All three I was waiting at a red light, then people ran into me from behind. All three were talking/texting while driving. It's a bitch!

Yes Marie, I agree completely, thanks for killing me on the way to work/store/errands just cuz you couldn't stop talking/texting...lol

Wrote something about the activities/foolish behavior of people driving myself :)
