To Die By A SwordA Poem by Marie HarrisonA poem about dying. To Die By A Sword Shards of glass rip open my flesh An ocean of red disappears. Turmeric memories Flood through my mind. Shock has nestled in And made a home in me. Soon all my blood will Leave me as well as my soul. To die crushed in your car Is so humbling. To die by a sword Or a bomb would be noble. But to die because Someone had to talk on the phone, What a horrible way to go. © 2010 Marie HarrisonAuthor's Note
