in the snow

in the snow

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

A winter poem.

"

in the snow

angel white is your soft blanket
that you wrap around me

smothering me with kisses
all over my red face
to keep me warm while
your white blanket of snow
chills me

lets go toast by the fire
to admire the artwork
that God's blessed us with

wrapped in blankets of red
who knows what will become
of our love that was once dead

flowers bloom yet again from
what was once considered dead

let us sip from love's heavenly
cup of love again tonight
while our heart's are light
like snowflakes

let's partake of our portion of
love from heaven's own
fresh baked angelfood cake
laid out on our table of love

let's give our love breath again
by the firelight tonight

as love shines in your eyes
so brightly
the reflection might blind me
but that's okay

it's the most
heavenly sight I've seen

since the snow started to
fall all around us at
daylight today
as we giggled and played
in the snow

funny how
love grows
again in the
snow

keep showering
me with kisses
my snow angel

my heart glows
with love for
you in this
blanket of snow

Summer refreshment! Pour some cherry juice on this snow cone!

Then fast forward to winter and this is one cozy scene bringing back highlight memories, for there's nothing sweeter and more highly charged than erotic romance by a fireplace when it's snowing, a cold bite in the air outside.

"let's partake of our portion of
love from heaven's own
fresh baked angelfood cake
laid out on our table of love"

These lines add hearty sweetness to the snow/fireplace/kisses juxtaposition.

This poem is like receiving a romantic Christmas greeting in summer to cool the oppressive heat, yet warm the lonely ache.

The season of love is all seasons.

Makes me really want winter to come soon, as it is my favourite season. This poem gives off a very calm vibe, much like winter itself.

'wrapped in blankets of red
who knows what will become
of our love that was once dead'

Brings back memories from last year!

pffft. I like the last paragraph the best. There's some skill there.

The snow might be cold but their love isn't any longer. All the cold snow brought them very close together physically and which brought them back together emotionally in their love, it seems. A sweet, tender and romantic winter tale.

This is a sweet poem. I gave me a chill..then warmed me by a savory flame in the fireplace. I'm digging the smooth clean style. Very Classy.
