Escaping The Green GlowA Poem by Marie HarrisonA science fiction poem about aliens.
Escaping The Green Glow In the royal blue sky the bright glowing lights Shine down on me, displaying my dark struggling shadow, Like I’m a prisoner on the run. In the twilight hours I run for my life. The little green Men with the Bowling pin heads Have frightened me, They know they’ve already Won my test tube soul. They’ll zap me in the bright shining sun. I was born an experimental Roswell child And I’ve been on the run ever since, I’d run miles to keep just a few Steps Ahead of them, Wanting desperately to keep All of my genitals and my limbs. If only I could escape Their bright green glow And find a safe place To make my home And not be their genome Or human-alien clone.
