Island Sheets

Island Sheets

A Poem by Marie Harrison
"

a poem of desire and memories

"

Island Sheets

Your teal island waves

Got under my milky skin

Hello vodka, wash my sorrows away

Can’t run from your earthy scent and

Almond eyes

Splash my pain into the

Underbelly of this city

Cool coffee silk reminds me of your Smooth caresses

Mask me from my shame and pity

Make me stupid, drunken silly…

Paint my life saffron yellow and

Daisy pretty

Missing the olive skin fedora man

Whose voice is gritty, soft and witty

Sensual and image driven, so smooth and feral. Nice work Marie.

Sweet and pure. A very good poem.

Been awhile, still taking the imagination on a ride with vivid color. A metaphoric write for a memory that left an impression. Still love your work Marie, keep it up.
