A heart in hand

A heart in hand

A Poem by chocolate_addict
"

"...I’ve held it too steadfast..."

"

My puppet darling,
I’ve taken your heart.

My tragic beauty,
I’ve held it too steadfast.

To my chest I’ve clenched it,

In my pocket I’ve kept it.

Chained to me you were,

Sewn your heart was,

To my weathered sleeve.

You trusted your existence,

To my slender hands,

And I could not hold you.

My living doll,
I’ve mistaken your soul.

My sorrowed death,

I’ve lost the one beloved.
