(In)(Sane)

A Poem by Chris Micha
"

If you don't understand this: I've done my job! If you do understand this: I've done my job!

"

(In)(Sane)

A CRAZY WORLD EXISTS

IN A SMALL WHITE PADDED ROOM

Where reality

is

?

He’s Shadow Boxing

demons

Crying at their

Silly faces

Laughing  tears

of

confusion

Powered by Lithium

while

Orderly Robots

From space

shuffle out thorazine

As He

puts on his

unemotional

poker face

to prepare for

the game

He’s

Dripping drip drops

Of

Drool

On dark

Drifting dreams

Walking on pillows

Of cotton

In room

Cloud 9

Swaying

To the

Swooshing

Song

Of the

Spaceship’s engine

Waving at

aliens

While he’s out

on his

ride

He’s

the star

in his own episode

Of a

 looney tunes

cartoon

Watching

A ward

of

wonderous

wild

pack of

Worry warts

Wiggling

To get away

When suddenly

The orderly robots

from space

Wisk him

Back to

Room cloud 9

Where

He finds himself

 Levitating

Above a bed

of hungry

Leaches

out for his blood

That feed like a hungry pack of

razors

When his

blue blood

Turns

Red

frightened

by the sight

there's a brief moment

Of insanity

And

he

wakes

Up

In a

lone

urine stained bed

in a small

white padded

room.

Awesome! The rhythm in this is epic and kept me going. I actually heard a beat in my head along with some trippy music to go along with it. The story woven here is eclectic, fun, yet twisted into something deliciously dangerous and mental, with a side of surrealism. I love the way you wrote it, your style is growing on me. Unique but awesome.

This is a great piece. Some really good imagery that really shows the tightrope between sanity and insanity.

Thank you my dear Julie. Always delighted to have you stop by my work. :)
I loved this poem so much, it reminded me of Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves. Towards the end there is some poetry like this. You did a great job.

Thanks so much Rav! I am happy you enjoyed it. :) I'll check out that author.
I am impressed. It does not have the frenetic pace I would have expected, but worked well.

Sweet! Thank u
To be mentally unwell and sanctioned while the episode is treated is a harrowing experience for anyone to experience. This describes in great detail the entire process, along with the "treatments" given. To find a baseline to call something a "reality" is challenging for anyone, but when unwell, how hard must it be? A sad, insightful piece, nicely presented and very well written :) Penny

To sum me up is pretty easy. I love writing because it's therapy for my wayward soul. Although, I am by no means any good at it, I still put myself out there. I use to write when I was younger but gav.. more..
