NEMESIS II

NEMESIS II

A Poem by GypsyMoonCat
"

And so he comes again ...

"

“It defies answer”

was all he said

as he swept out

leaving an imprint in the chair

The silence echoed

as I stared into the embers

of a dying fire

On dawn,

I felt released

and went about life reborn -

dancing in sunlight

The dance continued

until I felt his return in

darkened dreamscapes

I tried to fight

but defences stretched thin

left the way clear;

allowing him in

“Hello again” he says lightly

and again, I ask:

“Why are you here?”'

His smile flashes

like a shot in the dark

He raises the hood

and I jump back

shocked by my own face,

framing my father’s eyes

He goes to the chair,

smiling that familiar smile,

stretching like a sated cat

Slowly, he looks at me and says:

“I thought by now you’d know,

there is no answer”

About
I write mainly poems, but sometimes do the odd short story or flash fiction. I love poetry, although I'm not keen on the modern three line style, so you won't see many, if not ANY, of those! Been writ.. more..
