Failed

Never would I imagine to be on the other end 

So far from your grasp

You have lost your vision in me.

I've lost faith in us,

it's time to close the door

start a new chapter in my life

without you in it.

No longer the Prince I was waiting for,

how can you profess your love

when you haven't heard me speak.

Why hang on,

when there's nothing left of me.

I've failed a thousand times

to be the woman of your image.

I've failed myself 

in standing up for myself

for the empowerment that I needed.

It's time for a change,

it's time for me to leave

and start a new,

once again.

I've been through this before

I'm putting my foot down

No more going round and round.

I will no longer fail myself

I will rise and fullfill my dreams.

Try to break me

and watch where I will soar.

It's time to shut the door,

tomorrow is a new day.
