Imagine Slavery

Imagine Slavery

a revised version from the original work of mine called, "Imagine" but this was revamped to slavery.

Imagine Slavery

Imagine, existing in a parallel world, the converse
of the one in which you live?

Imagine, hopes of your children to outrun poverty,

While in a desperate act you hand them to a trusted source.

Aria, a twin from Jamaica sold off to an adoption site,

While her other half, Dominic belongs to God, since

His existence only affects those to auction his heart.

Imagine, the demise of romantic fantasy to be loved

And wanted, desperate to accept a promise

Only to be a slave in another world.

Sorya 26 from Honduras who was affected with a violent past

Scars on her face an image that can’t be ignored,

She’s only succumbing to servitude of slavery.

Yet, survival becomes a timeless quest;
quivering hope longs a new vision....

Imagine, the home of your youth is a house from the outside
and a prison from within...

Alisha, an African-American girl transported from one home to another,

Only to discover the parent who took an oath to care for her

Have now become her new found pimp.

Imagine in a poverish country, only to realize

You’ve been permantely disabled by the hands of your mother

So you could be a scorned hustler, who would turn

Heiu away who’s only 9 years old walking on his hands?

Imagine Natalie, 16 years old invited to a private VIP party

Only to find herself modeling for an underground porn,

The part she’s unaware is that she’s no longer in the borders of America.

Imagine authorities conveying their promises to search and

Rescue, yet jurisdiction and corruption only

Limits their true intentions.

Imagine, Jacob a boy from Alabama only to be further confused

Of his own gender to be outcast by the religion he was raised,

Bullied by the only peers who knows

Goes online for a tempting promise of a weekend getaway

Only to be a star of a Ladyboy Bar in the heart of Bangkok.

Can you imagine any more lives stolen every day by thieves on the street,

Predators lurking on the other side of social network,

While we become distracted by other issues when our children should be put priority.

Stats:  Every 40 seconds a child goes missing, for 1 in every 8 children are found in slavery or organ harvesting of some sort.  Seven years is the maximum life sentence for these children if unsaved.  Together we can make a difference.

My this is such a profound piece of integral ink...as a mother it's so hard knowing this is a far cry from the imaginary world many try to pretend doesn't exist. You expounded on so many scenarios in great detail if one does not feel any compassion or the sincerity of your spirit, then a heart and soul he/she does not possess. Thank you so much for sharing this piece and I hope many more find insight from it.
