You say you forgive me

A Poem by Christine
"
I sometimes can't stand the audacity of people, who think that when they forgive someone it wipes the slate clean.
"

You say you forgive me

Because it’s the Christian thing to do.

Yet, I wonder how I can forgive myself,

For even loving you.

You betrayed me with your lies,

You hurt me until I cried

My tears brought you twisted joy

As they traveled from my eyes.

My tears flowed like a river

Faithfully down my face

My mind often wonders

How do I deal with loves

Fall from grace.

You say you forgive me

The hurt and the pain I’ve caused you.

I’m sorry I can’t say the same,

Because I will never forgive you.

You say that you forgive me.
