I watched you...

I watched you...

A Poem by Christine
"

Leaving someone you love behind while you chase your own dreams is a very difficult thing to do.

"

Oh my heart, my love,

I am sorry to bring you such sorrow.

Please forgive me for bringing hurt and pain into your life.

I hope you will start to heal,

tomorrow.

I watched you through the rear view mirror,

as I drove away from the house.

Our goodbyes were said sadly,

softly,

hauntingly.

I watched you as I drove down the street,

I saw how lowly you hung your head.

I watched you turn,

not waving goodbye....

feeling abandoned and alone.

I watched a tear slid from your eye

as you turned your head one more time..

hoping...

fleetingly hoping, that I had changed my mind,

as I drove away from our home.

I'm doing this for me,

I know how selfish it seems,

I need to leave to follow my dream.

Please forgive me.

you have a way with telling a story in your poems i've read. A way of communicating what you are going through?
thats how poetry works for me....
