Watching

Watching

A Poem by likesgreeneggsandham

Your propensity to fall from grace’s lowliest places

Increases with each year

You’ve stopped imagining what lost friends say about you

What became of you each time you left

Both time and space

For so few new beginnings

And even less book endings to keep you neat and tidy

Yet life’s journey, though twisting

Offered up a narrow gate of knowing

That you are not this pain

This loneliness

Lowliness

Your deepest truth was what was watching

The memories drive you mad
