Grace Granted

Grace Granted

A Poem by likesgreeneggsandham

Lonely listen

To the beat of your own flesh in your ears

Forgotten fancies

Another plume of cigarette’s rememberings

Hedonistic hatreds that poured from his skin

Into your river of regrets

I know how to sit and witness

My own watching, even if

The pain still pierces my periphery

God granted me grace

In many a mystic meeting

Allowed me to pray past the hour of my timepiece

Creation cradled me

The lack of sadness sweetly startled

As I started to notice

The unflinching beauty

Of everything

I absolutely adore this poem. It's not super long, and it conveys an ending of just complete stillness and peace. One of my favorite things to do is go out on walks, and this poem honestly portrays the very character of some of those walks in nature that I've been on. Very relatable! Well done, again absolutely loved this piece.
