A Poem by likesgreeneggsandham

It’s hot for hatred

The humidity pools under her breasts

He’s asking too many lucid questions

Trying to tease out the tragedy

But she’s got a mask for that

A laugh for lasciviousness

A smile to cover up her creed

Of falling into lust’s love with strangers

Behind doors of wanting with many men

To colour in the picture properly

His innocence makes him indolent

He’s questioning her cleanliness

Asking with answers

He’s making her into a misfortune

What he fails to see is sensuality's sanity

The fast freedom of a cool sheet

On a scorching summer’s day

Perhaps "He" has no illusions of your meanings - Sees behind the masks and into the behind the eyes spaces where you ...live. Heat has its own truth as do thoughts of relief.

I love the questioning with answers line, it just unlocked a cold and dark vault in my head, where I keep all the screams screamed for that little nasty twist that some have as their default.
Seeing her as the victim, because they cant see others feelings, so they assume everyone thinks like them.
I think you have captured so well the he and the she, painting a scene with an almost invisible line between the two, yhat only one of you see.

This poem is quite good, whoever the "He" in question is makes me think of a man who is either ignorant, or... unwilling to allow himself to understand "her." However, "she" is also appears to be used to things like that though the poem suggests that "she" is used to a lot... as the line, "But she's got a mask for that" suggests.

Makes me wonder just how many masks there are, and if they ever find themselves one day being able to feel comfortable taking all of them off and still able to share their thoughts or desires freely without feeling they might be hurt because of it?

This poem sets up the groundwork for a really good story.

Once more, well done!

Reads like a remake of Mrs. Robinson - the seductress and the naive inexperienced lover ... nicely weaved into great wordplay. Interesting indeed ... :-)
